Community Center

Crossroads Community Center is located at 21 Sullivan Avenue, right in the center of a predominantly low-income community in Westminster which faces significant challenges navigating employment, childcare, food insecurity, and engaging with the local school system. Crossroads Recovery/Justin’s Place

Justin’s Place, located at 35 West Main Street in downtown Westminster, is dedicated to providing men with Christ-centered residential recovery and transition assistance. Contact Janine Rubilotta or Tito Matos for more information.

Volunteers can serve in a variety of ways, including:

  • Making a meal
  • Providing tickets or passes to field trip opportunities/activities
  • Donating needed supplies
  • Providing job opportunities for graduates.
  • General upkeep and special projects


The mission of NicaWorks! is to help impoverished Nicaraguans break the cycle of intergenerational poverty by providing real opportunities for economic, social, educational, and spiritual growth. They work with Nicaraguan church partners to share the Gospel and address the root causes of poverty by providing increased access to education, employment, healthcare, and agricultural development. Every summer Crossroads Teams travel to Nicaragua to come alongside the NicaWorks! staff in what God is doing through them every day. You can also get involved by donating bicycles for Nicabikeshop, a for-profit business that employs Nicaraguans and helps fund NicaWorks! ministry.

Carroll County Food Sunday

Carroll County Food Sunday (CCFS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization of volunteers and members of the community coming together as neighbors helping neighbors by supporting Carroll County residents in meeting their emergency and supplemental food needs. The CCFS program aims to sustain health, good nutrition and energy, raise human potential and do so in a manner that enhances human dignity. Contact Steph Albright for more information.

Volunteers are needed for food distribution at the following dates and times:

  • Tuesdays 10:00-11:15 and/or 1:00-2:15
  • Wednesdays 10:00-11:15 and/or 1:00-2:15
  • Thursdays 10:00-11:15 and/or 1:00-2:15

Feed My Sheep

Feed My Sheep is a ministry of Wesley Freedom and Eldersburg area faith communities. We serve a meal three times per week that is open to the entire community. Contact Tracy Lortie for more information.

Volunteers are needed every other month to prepare and serve a hot lunch.

North East Social Action Program

NESAP, located in Hampstead Maryland, supports individuals and families in crisis with practical help such as food, clothing, transportation, fuel and financial assistance for rent, utilities and minor medical bills. Volunteers are always needed on a weekly, monthly or as-needed basis for a wide variety of serving opportunities. Contact Steph Albright or Melissa Caine for more information.

Volunteers are needed to organize donations and help in the loading dock any time Monday-Saturday between 9:00am and 3:00pm.

New Life For Girls

Located in Westminster Maryland, New Life For Girls provides a comprehensive 24-hr residential program serving women ages 18 and up (including mothers & children) who are struggling with problems such as drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders, and sexual abuse issues.

Personal Shopping for At-Risk Residents

Located in Westminster, Maryland, Westminster Overlook Apartments is a low income housing facility that serves disabled and/or elderly individuals. Volunteers are needed to shop for residents who are unable to do so for themselves. Contact Steph Albright for more information.
